Oplon DNS and Proxy Manager is the brand new and innovative product that allows you to dynamically set up name-address associations on the DNS by constantly checking the reachability and operability of application services.
Oplon DNS and Proxy Manager allows multiple DNS nodes to be kept up-to-date independently in order to always have the most up-to-date picture of the network topology and associated services.

High reliability

Oplon DNS Manager makes it possible to create highly reliable infrastructures, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery in a simple and effective way.
Oplon DNS Manager is also the right completion to Oplon ADC Enterprise HA able to manage different addresses in RoundRobin in a dynamic way by presenting to the clients the actual routing availability. This solution is a valid alternative where the use of Firewall with RoundRobin features is not foreseen.
Oplon DNS Manager is released in order to cooperate with DNS BIND (https://www.isc.org/) and MS DNS which provide DNS services.Oplon DNS Manager finds innumerable applications in the infrastructural sphere. Among these, the Disaster Recovery scenario is undoubtedly the most representative. Among the many operations that must be performed to achieve the movement of services from one site to another, surely the adaptation of the pair name-addresses is among the most critical. Oplon DNS Manager manages this phase in complete autonomy, avoiding both human errors and errors generated by possible negative client cache (negative-cache prevention).
Oplon DNS Manager constantly checks the availability of applications at the indicated sites and is able to set the DNS automatically when status changes occur. By way of example only, the following is a scenario with two sites, where in case of need the “secondary” site must be made available to clients when the application services are activated and ready for delivery.
The initial state provides for two DNS, one per site. In the image beside Oplon DNS Manager detects the activity in the main site. Both DNS will respond to a dnslookup with the address where the availability of service delivery was detected.
Oplon DNS Manager instances at both the main site and the secondary site will continuously monitor application service activity until a change occurs. At the main site failure, Oplon DNSManager noting the change in status will perform an update of the DNS zones and their namespaces.
This situation will remain until one of the two addresses and its applications are active again. At that time, Oplon DNS Manager detects the activity and thus a further status change will dynamically modify its DNS zones by associating the new address. At a dnslookup the answer will be changed to the new address without any intervention.
